And the wheel turns…
Shortly after the first poll results started pouring in, the BBC had already predicted the Barak Obama would be the 44th president of the United States of America. The least they could have given me was a spoiler warning! I was planning on spending a good chunk of my day peaking at the numbers, but now I’ll have to work!
All said and done, it was a dirty campaign. I’m sure that there was a lot of stress and probably more than one member of the election staff on both sides that did or said things that weren’t necessarily authorized. Hopefully, in elections to come, we will see a little more dignity and a lot less misquoting.
I do have mixed feelings about the results though. Remember when Palin was preparing for her debate with Biden and everyone was talking about lowering expectations for the Alaskan? Well, watching the victory parties of Obama supporters has me worried that the bar has been set too high. Heck, did you see this?

I know that I wouldn’t want to be in Obama’s shoes right now. Hopefully the American public remembers that Democracy is still in effect and that it will take longer than overnight for this big ship to find its new course.
Yo ho ho!
