Typhoon!!
Well, it’s that time of the year for the Japanese archipelago and the typhoons (hurricanes for those of you on the other side of the international date line) are a comin’! You can track the current one at the Japan Meteorological Agency. It’s pretty crazy with the wind howling around and debris hitting the window.
The Tokyo Auto Show was also started last week. I am really interested in the hybrid cars as Japan is making major moves to make hybrid technology the standard for all new vehicles. Toyota has announced that it’s long term goals are to put a hybrid engine in every car that it makes.
I had considered purchasing a Prius a couple years back, but was put off by the expensive price tag and the long wait that I would have to endure to actually get one. However, it was announced that manufacturers have been able to cut the production costs in half, which should be reflected in the price tags for these new cars. Coupled with the standardization of the engine type, I’m thinking that it should be just about buying time for me.
